Bay Area Seals Acquire 5 New “Import” Players; set for WSHL playoff push!!!!!!!!!

With their final 24 WSHL 2012-2013 regular season games in front of them, Seals President Chris Collins wasted no time in strengthening a healthy and vastly improved Bay Area roster last week.

In filling his 5 “import” availability spots, Collins went across the pond to pick up three of Europe’s top 1992 born players. In one day, the Seals acquired top 92 born net-minding prospect, Slovakian former national team player Filip Orcik from the Russian MHL. Next the Seals acquired close Orcik friend and top centre Kristian Kucera, also from the MHL. Not sitting still and to top off the day, Collins reached out and signed fellow friend Filip Ondracek rounding out a spectacular day of acquisitions for the expansion Seals.

Final tally; TWO Slovaks plus ONE more Czech Republic player to join his fellow countrymen in Martin Vachal and Ladislav Hruska, also former Czech national team players.

Collins pushed all praise back to Bay Area Seals Director of Player Personel, Mr. Pierre-Luc Racette saying “Pierre-Luc and I have been friends for a number of years as I trust his judgment greatly. He has zeroed in on these three from day 1 of training camp and told me that if and when they became available so as to be seen in North America for college and pro opportunities that we should get them, and we did!” Said Racette; “tremendously smart players who have played at high levels and succeeded. Each will help make the Seals franchise better in everything they do.”

The three players had immediate impacts joining the Seals in game #2 of the recently completed WSHL 2012 Showcase in Las Vegas where each player led the Seals to victories as the Bay Area squad went 4-0 at the tournament where all games count inside the WSHL standings.

Once returning from Las Vegas, both Collins and Racette, went north of the border to make two significant acquisitions. The Seals acquired the one – two scoring punch of forward Corey Wamsteeker and top defenseman (and current Wamsteeker teammate) Mac Putio. Both have led their current NWJHL franchise into new dizzying accomplishments and promise to make immediate impacts on the WSHL Pacific Division race.

Seals Player Personel Director, Racette had this scout report on both Wamsteeker and Putio:

‘Last season Wammer got named rookie of the year in the NWJHL with a total of 66pts in 29games (32goals, 34assists) + adding 14pts in 7 games in the playoff (7goals, 7assists). Wammer Stats: Born Jul 23 1993 -- Grande Prairie, ALTA. Height 5.10 -- Weight 185 lb. 19 years old

Wamsteeker was recently (November) named player of the month in the NWJHL. 31G 30A in 22 games making him the points leader of the NWJHL. Wamsteeker is ridiculously effective on the PP - 10 PPG 9 PPA. Wammer skates well, plays the game well, has good vision and excellent creativity; he will be a good Seals teammate as he thinks team first!’
